Pastor James G. Buske is a 1993 Graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. After attending one year at University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, He transferred to Martin Lutheran College in New Ulm, Minnesota and graduated in the spring of 1998. After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2002, Pastor Buske was first assigned to serve as tutor at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin, where he served as pastor, teacher, coach, and dorm supervisor for the 42 boys that lived on his floor. After two years Jim was then reassigned to serve as associate Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bremerton, Washington. Pastor Buske accepted the call to serve as Pastor and Director of the Lighthouse Youth Center and has begun this exciting ministry to the youth on the north side of Milwaukee. Pastor Buske has experience organizing and recruiting volunteers, and through the dedication and Christ-like love he has shown for his members he has proven to be a strong mentor and guide for the Lighthouse youth. Mark Gunderson joined the Lighthouse staff in August of 2008. He is a 1998 graduate of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and a 2003 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. While at the seminary, Mark served his vicar or intern year at St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee where he was privileged to work with youth in the urban setting. Following that year, he accepted a one year emergency call to teach religion at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. After graduating from the seminary, Mark was assigned to be a campus pastor at Martin Luther College, where he served for two years teaching religion, coaching, and supervising a dormitory. In the spring of 2005, he was reassigned to be an associate pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in Nampa, Idaho. He served that congregation for two years. Mark is excited to be back in the city as part of the Lighthouse team sharing Jesus with the youth of the city. |

Bethany Winkel has been writing grants for Lighthouse for four years. She is a 1995 Graduate of Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI. After graduating with an Associate of Arts degree from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Bethany was part of the committee that formed Lighthouse Youth Center in 2004, at which time she began to apply for grants to support the creation of Lighthouse. Just before Lighthouse opened in 2006, Bethany was hired as the Development Director, allowing her to continue grant writing. Bethany’s dedication to Lighthouse Youth Center and desire to see these youth learn about Christ and their hope for the future motivate her to continue to find funding to serve the youth. Bethany also works part time as a veterinarian’s assistant, and she and her husband, Christian, have 4 children. |

Anne Mundt received her Associate of Arts degree from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Minnesota-Mankato, and finally received a Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Anne is a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist with 8 years of experience working in public schools in the Madison area, Houston, TX, and Milwaukee. During her career, she has targeted the middle school population; the group which she believes to be most challenging and rewarding. This experience has served her well as she volunteered regularly, along with her husband, Andrew, at Lighthouse since its opening. She is thrilled to now serve as Program Director and have a greater hand in the development of educational opportunities and experiences for the Lighthouse students. God has provided a venue through which she can now blend her passion for students and education with a desire to share the Gospel! Anne and her husband have two daughters, Claire and Morgan.

Abe Degner is a native of St. Peter, Minnesota. He graduated from Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in 2001, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota in 2005. After teaching English in Mexico for a year, he began his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, where he is currently in his fourth and final year. Abe loves to share God’s Word with the youth at Lighthouse, and prays that his experiences here will serve him well in his future ministry. |

Daniel Waldschmidt is a 2004 graduate of Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI. After graduating from high school Dan attended Martin Luther College and graduated in 2008. He is currently in his second year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary where he is training to become a pastor. Dan is excited to be working with the students at Lighthouse Youth Center and is learning a lot from them. He enjoys sharing God’s Word with them and helping them to grow in faith. He looks forward to a year of working and growing together in God's Word. Dan was recently married to his wife, Cori, in July 2009.
