PASTOR JAMES BUSKE
Pastor James G. Buske is a 1993 Graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. After attending one year at University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, He transferred to Martin Lutheran College in New Ulm, Minnesota and graduated in the spring of 1998. After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2002, Pastor Buske was first assigned to serve as tutor at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin, where he served as pastor, teacher, coach, and dorm supervisor for the 42 boys that lived on his floor. After two years Jim was then reassigned to serve as associate Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bremerton, Washington. Pastor Buske accepted the call to serve as Pastor and Director of the Lighthouse Youth Center and has begun this exciting ministry to the youth on the north side of Milwaukee. Pastor Buske has experience organizing and recruiting volunteers, and through the dedication and Christ-like love he has shown for his members he has proven to be a strong mentor and guide for the Lighthouse youth. Pastor Buske and his wife, Terry, have four children.
Site Director – Havenwoods Campus
Mark Gunderson joined the Lighthouse staff in August of 2008. He is a 1998 graduate of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and a 2003 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. While at the seminary, Mark served his vicar or intern year at St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee where he was privileged to work with youth in the urban setting. Following that year, he accepted a one year emergency call to teach religion at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. After graduating from the seminary, Mark was assigned to be a campus pastor at Martin Luther College, where he served for two years teaching religion, coaching, and supervising a dormitory. In the spring of 2005, he was reassigned to be an associate pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in Nampa, Idaho. He served that congregation for two years. Mark is excited to be part of the Lighthouse team sharing Jesus with the youth of the city. Mark was married in July, 2010. He and his wife, Janet, have three children and are enjoying the joys of youth ministry together!
Site Director – Garden Homes Campus
Chuqee Fletcher was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. He is the Site Director for Lighthouse Youth Center – Garden Homes Campus after serving as Vicar from June, 2013- June, 2015. He attended Garden Homes Lutheran in Milwaukee and now works in that same school building. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 2008 and went on to graduate from Martin Luther College in 2012. He is currently continuing his education at Wisconsin Lutheran College with an expected graduation in the Spring of 2017. He is pursuing his Masters in Education. He married Erika Fletcher in 2013, who works as an Educational Assistant for K3 at Garden Homes Lutheran School. They have one daughter and one son. Chuqee is grateful for the experience and opportunity to be part of the Lighthouse Youth Center’s team. He is also looking forward to developing ties to the community and making Lighthouse Youth Center as excellent a place as possible
Mission Advancement Officer
Jamie Dutton joined the Lighthouse Youth Center team in January 2014. She is from Waukesha, WI and is a 2003 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School (WISCO) and a 2007 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC). Previously, she worked for 7 years at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans on their Community Engagement team; building relationships with congregations and community non-profits to create increased awareness of the many resources Thrivent offers as a not-for-profit. Jamie currently lives in Waterford, WI with her husband, Josh and their two daughters. She truly feels led by God to join the Lighthouse team and is excited to help Lighthouse grow – as that simply means more children coming to know the unconditional love of their Savior!
Vicar – Garden Homes Campus
Paul Kolander is from Appleton, Wisconsin. He graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 2004. In 2009, he graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. In 2012, he graduated from Martin Luther College through its seminary certification program. He completed his vicar year at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Westminster, Colorado. He is now in his last year of training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He loves sharing God’s Word and working with the youth at Lighthouse. Paul considers his experience at Lighthouse a great blessing both now and for his future ministry.
Vicar – Havenwoods Campus
Tom Gorzalski is from Appleton, WI and graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 2010. In 2014 he graduated from Martin Luther College and is now in his second year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. This last summer Tom served as a summer vicar in Farmington, New Mexico at a church with many members from the Navajo reservation. Tom appreciates the opportunity for another diverse work environment at Lighthouse and the chance to spread the gospel everyday.
Vicar – Garden Homes Campus
Russell Scoggins is from Austin, Texas. He graduated from Martin Luther College and is now in his second year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He and his wife Amber have been married for 1 year. Russell speaks Spanish and loves learning about whatever culture he is surrounded by. He believes that understanding culture and proclaiming the gospel go hand-in-hand. Russell has loved his time at Lighthouse and cherishes every opportunity he gets to “talk Jesus” with the kids.
