Lighthouse Life Skills Programs
Lighthouse brief description of what Life Skills are should be listed here.
Bible Study
During the school year, students learn Bible History from both the Old and New Testaments. These lessons are made applicable to today’s teens and their needs. In addition once a month during the school year, the students at Havenwoods can participate in a Saturday Breakfast Bible Club.
Daily devotions
On Fridays, students focus on thematic units relating to God’s Word including topics Very Important Passages (VIP), Prayer, Proverbs, Psalms, Names of Jesus, and Christian Identity.
Caring, Christ-centered staff and volunteers
Lighthouse Youth Center has an 8:1 student to adult ratio. The staff and volunteers focus on building relationships with the students and in the process are mentors.
Entertainment on Big Screen TVs
Students are invited to stay after the program and watch a movie or play games while enjoying snacks.
Classes on computers, art, culture
During the summer each week is dedicated to a different type of program. Students have learned how to Be Wise with Money, dance and do art projects, learned the history of Milwaukee, and learned about the legal system among other topics.
Homework Club
Students are required to bring homework to our campus every Monday through Thursday during the school year. For forty-five minutes they have mandated time to complete homework and other projects and staff and volunteers are available to assist.
Computer lab
Each location has at least six computers which students can use to complete homework and use during free time.
